Privacy Policy

We collect only the details we need to answer your enquiry and work on your generator: your name, contact details, the site address and information about the generator. We use them for that purpose and never sell them, and under POPIA you can ask us to see, correct or delete them.

1. Who we are

Onsite Generator Repairs ("we", "us", "our") repairs, services and maintains generators across Gauteng, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy: we decide why and how it is used. Our contact details are:

For any privacy question or request, contact us using the details above.

2. What we collect, and how

We collect personal information only when you give it to us, and only what we need to help with your generator. How it reaches us depends on how you get in touch.

Phone calls

When you call, we note your name, phone number, where the generator is and what it is doing, so that we can send a technician or call you back.

WhatsApp

Messages, photos and videos you send on WhatsApp reach us with your name and number as WhatsApp shows them. Photos of the generator, its rating plate or controller can show part of your property; we use them only to diagnose the fault and prepare a quotation.

Email

Emails reach our business inbox with your name, email address and whatever you include, such as the site address, the generator details and photos.

The enquiry form on this website

The form asks for your name, phone number, suburb or town, the service you need and a description of the problem, and lets you add an email address and the generator's make, size or type. Depending on the option you choose, it opens WhatsApp or your own email app with the enquiry filled in for you to send, or, where that option is offered, sends it from the page straight to our inbox.

When the form sends an enquiry from the page, the website briefly holds the internet (IP) address it came from in memory, to limit how many enquiries one address can send in a few minutes and so block automated spam. The address is not saved with your enquiry.

When we work on your generator

To carry out a callout, service or repair we need the site address, a business name where the generator belongs to a business, how we get access, and details of the generator and the work we do on it.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as identity numbers, financial account details or health information.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you give us only for these purposes:

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quotation
  • To arrange and carry out generator repairs, servicing and maintenance
  • To keep a record of the work we did, so we can deal with any later problem under our one-year warranty
  • To send you service reminders if you are on a maintenance plan, and only with your consent
  • To improve the quality of our services

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Services that carry your information

We share personal information only where it is needed to help you, and never for marketing. Your information passes through these services on its way to us:

  • WhatsApp, run by Meta, for messages you send us there, under its own privacy policy
  • The email and phone services that carry your emails and calls to us
  • Vercel, which hosts this website and provides its analytics
  • Where the enquiry form sends your enquiry from the page, the email-delivery service that passes it to our inbox

Some of these services are based outside South Africa, so information sent through them may be processed there.

6. How we store and protect it, and how long we keep it

Your information is stored securely and accessed only by authorised staff who need it to carry out their duties. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it against loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it to provide our services and meet our legal obligations, after which it is securely deleted.

7. Website analytics and cookies

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, provided by Vercel, the company that hosts the site. They collect anonymous usage data, such as the pages viewed, the website that referred you, your country, and the type of device and browser you use, along with how quickly each page loads.

The analytics also count clicks on the call, WhatsApp and email links on this website, together with the page the click came from. They do not record your phone number, email address or anything you write.

These tools do not use cookies and are not used to identify you. We use the figures only to see which pages are useful and to keep the site fast. The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
