The engine runs at our complex but the gate stays shut. Can you fix the changeover?
Yes. When the set runs and nothing comes on, the fault sits between alternator and board: the changeover contactor, its mains sensing or the generator breaker. We test each on live mains; see running but no power.
Our Laser Park set trips when the cold-room compressor starts. Is the generator faulty?
Not always. A compressor starting direct-on-line draws far more than it runs on, and a set short of kVA drops its voltage until the protection opens. We meter the start and say whether set, load or wiring must change.
Can you get into Jackal Creek or Eagle Canyon to repair a home generator?
Yes. If the estate office clears contractors, tell them we are coming when you book and the technician arrives with identification. The repair is done at the house and the set left in automatic.
Do you repair the small petrol generators used at shops in Zandspruit?
Yes, on site. Stale petrol gumming the carburettor, overloaded sockets and extension leads, and worn pull-starts cause most faults. Keep the set outdoors, away from doors and windows, and never feed it into a wall socket.
