The generators we repair in Laudium and Erasmia
Family homes: Residential generator services
Silent diesels in side yards and petrol portables kept in the garage, wheeled out when load shedding starts.
Shops on the business strips: Commercial generator services
Small diesels and portables keeping tills, fridges and lights going, usually in a yard behind the shop.
Mosques: Standby generators
A set that must take the lighting, sound system and fans together when an outage falls on a prayer time.
Churches: Battery not charging
Sets kept for services and evening meetings; weeks can pass between runs, which is hard on batteries and fuel.
Schools: Generator not starting
Standby that idles through each holiday and is expected to start on the first morning of term.
Small businesses and workshops: Industrial generator services
Diesels under compressors, welders and grinders, where a heavy motor start drags the voltage down.

Shops and business strips
Sets behind the shops, and why they struggle
For a shop on one of the business strips, load shedding is a trading problem: a fridge that warms or a till that stops costs the day. Most keep a small silent diesel or a portable in the back yard, wired through a changeover switch or running a few appliances on leads.
The faults follow the setting. A set boxed in under a roof or against a wall runs hot and breathes its own exhaust; a portable on a long, thin lead overloads and trips; petrol kept for weeks goes stale. We repair the set and say where it should stand.
- Visits timed around trading hours
- The load measured against the set’s rating
- Airflow and the exhaust path checked where it stands

Response
On site in Laudium and Erasmia in 1–2 hours
Technicians on site in 1–2 hours, 24/7. Laudium lies south-west of central Pretoria, with Atteridgeville directly to the north; Claudius sits on both sides of the R55, and Erasmia is a direct road away, so we cover the three as one area. Give us the street, who opens the gate and where the set stands.
While you wait, look only at the fuel level, the emergency stop, the main breaker and the controller screen, and stop after two tries at the starter. Keep a portable outdoors, clear of doors and windows, because its exhaust carries carbon monoxide, and never plug a generator into a wall socket. Emergency generator repair covers night calls.
Every make
Makes we repair in Laudium and Erasmia
We Service & Repair All Generator Brands. Homes and shops here mostly run petrol portables from Ryobi or Lutian or on Honda engines, and silent diesels from Kipor, Mac Afric or Bundu Power on SmartGen controllers. Schools, mosques and workshops add larger diesels on Perkins, Yanmar or Cummins engines with Stamford or Mecc Alte alternators. See our brand pages.
Prevention
When the same generator breaks down again
A second breakdown usually means the repair cured the symptom while the cause stayed: a school battery replaced under a charger that still overcharges, a portable refilled from the same old can of petrol, a shop set left boxed in where it overheated. The report we leave names the cause.
Servicing ends the repeat. The Laudium and Erasmia generator service and maintenance page covers a visit to a home, shop, mosque or school and the plans that keep each ready. Generator repairs explains how we trace a fault; we also attend breakdowns in Centurion, Atteridgeville and Hermanstad and Danville, and across the Centurion hub.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Our mosque’s generator would not start for prayers during load shedding. What usually causes that?
Usually a battery that ran down while the set stood idle, a failed charger or water in the tank. The technician tests each, repairs the cause, then proves the set by running the lights, sound and fans together.
Our shop’s portable keeps tripping when the fridges start. Is it faulty?
Often it is overloaded rather than broken: a fridge compressor draws several times its running current as it starts. We check the set’s output and the load, and say whether you need a larger set or fewer appliances on it.
Do you repair generators in Erasmia and Claudius as well as Laudium?
Yes. All three are covered alike, including the parts of Claudius on both sides of the R55. Give us the street and the make, and say who will open the gate.
Is it safe to run our home generator on extension leads into the house?
For a few appliances, yes, if the leads are rated for the load, fully unrolled and dry, with the set outside. Never plug the generator into a wall socket: that back-feeds the wiring. A fixed connection needs an electrician and a changeover switch.
